Hi,

easy to reproduce:

- open PI (latest Windows version)
- open task manager
- observe PI is idle
- drag and drop a DSS generated image (32b float TIFF) onto PI (also happens with an XISF image so I stopped trying different formats at that point)
- image opens
- observe PI consumes 1 core (12% in my case)
- interact with the image (say do an STF)
- PI CPU drops to 0

This can not be reproduced when you open a file with the File->Open dialog but then who does that?
Best,

    Sander
