R--T Preview FLASH (again) and Shrinking Masks :>)
« on: 2017 April 05 12:19:54 »
Hi Juan! I have 2 possibles. One I've reported in the past, something you hadn't been able to replicate, but which occurs on my system, a growing number of Windows-based friends, and now a client I tutored on their Mac. When a R-T preview is engaged (circle is red), toggling it off, then ON within the process module causes a momentary white flash- rather blinding. Toggling off, then on in the R-T preview window works fine.

Second, on occasion, I've used SampleFormatConversion to crunch a mask to 8-bit for storage savings. Many masks reduce in dimensions rather than reduce in bit-depth. It seems inconsistent though. Today, one star mask truncated fine, while the other went from 4,656 pixels wide to 1056. Some of Rick's ColorMask's do this, some don't.

Thanks Maestro!
Best always, Warren

Hi Juan,

I concur with Warren's first anomaly - I also get the 'white flash' issue when toggling screen previews on/of within a Process instance (but not within the RT Preview Instance itself).

Further - I would love to be able to perform this 'toggle' process from the keyboard - perhaps the CTRL-SHIFT-Z key-combination could be re-used for this, after all the action being performed is very similar to that done when working with 'full' previews - and it is not as if an RT preview and normal Preview operation can be ocurring at the same time, as they are mutually exclusive by definition.

I cannot comment on your second observation Warren - I have never tried to do this.

I also get the white flash.  I assumed it was the "nature of the beast"
