Resizing PI Window and Icons

Hey folks,

Should know this but have a new monitor (Dell UP3216Q) with resolution of 3840 x 2160, however, my PI window and icons simply scaled up to take up the same space as my old system.  What do I need to do to reduce the size of the icons, titlebars, etc.

Hi Jim,

What about icons, etc., outwith PixInsight - such as on your main desktop? Have they remained the same size as well?

If they have then you need to sort out scaling at the Operating System level first. Once you have done that, you can tackle scaling within PixInsight itself.

When I upgraded my multiple monitor setup to 4K UHD monitors, I actually found that the test within PixInsight was too small for my tired old eyes, so I had to upscale that.

No, I have been able to resize those to the size I want.  Its just in PI that I am having the issue.

Have you tried unchecking the automatic scaling? I figured i'd ask. The scaling in PI does not allow any amount under 1.0. I just tried setting the actual initialization file to a lower amount and PI set it back to 1.0 and automatic so you can't cheat that way. On my 2K monitor I would like even smaller icons then the 1.0 setting.

Once again you prove you are a gentleman and a scholar.  That was it exactly.  For me 1.0 was too small but 1.25 did the job beautifully.
