Using the BLINK process
« on: 2017 January 28 08:12:47 »
Hello.

Wonder is someone can help.

I imaged an asteroid yesterday and decided to use the Blink process to view the asteroid move and save it at as video.

The problem i see is that once i open all the files within the process, files do not load up in sequence but in numerical sequence,
1, 11, and so on instead of 1,2,3.....and therefore the moving target jumps back and forth.

Is there a way to overcome this?
(I can always just rename the files with A1 to A9, then B1 to B9 etc), but was hoping there might be a way around this??

Thank you
Jason

Hi Jason,

I know this is slightly off-topic, but may be of use in any case:

I used to (and sill ocassionaly do) use a fantastic little stand-alone EXE called sequentialize (by PolyBytes LLC - who, sadly, seem to have now disappeared). This helped me gather all ,y lights and calibration frames into manageable groups.

However, due to the demise of that code, I recently started looking around for a replacement, and found RegexRenamer (by Xiperware http://regexrenamer.sourceforge.net/). It seems to be just the job for controlling astro-imaging data collections!
Note: I am not, in any way, affiliated with either of these programs  :police:

Hope this helps.
Cheers,

This is another powerful rename tool http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php . Takes a while to learn, but can do almost everything.
