Hi John,

Sorry I can't help you directly - but I would like to ask you to avoid using ALL CAPITALS when you post questions (except where appropriate, to emphasize something - and, even then, there are HTML formatting tools available on the Forum that can give your text a bold, italic or underlined emphasis, or even a combination of all three, although I can't think why this would ever be needed  :) )

'All Capitals' tends to come across all 'shouty', and leaves folk disinclined to reply.

That said, I am sorry I don't have direct experience of your problem, so cannot help you myself - perhaps others can?
Cheers,

No problems from me John. I go back to the paper tape days when all we had were capitals letters. Somewhere in the garage I think I still have a portable terminal that doesn't code lower case.

Good Evening, I report total failure from all your splendid advice. I have also included a uninstall and re install in the repertoire but I continue to be denied access to the repository. Most frustrating all round.
I am running Win10 inside VMware Fusion on a iMac loaded with Sierra.
If anyone has any addition thoughts as to what might be the problem I would appreciate any advice.

from within the virtual machine can you use a web browser to go to pixinsight.com? the error seems to be that windows, or your router, can't translate the "pixinsight.com" to the IP address of pixinsight's server. this is something that all computers need to do to access any resource on the internet...  obviously whatever computer you are using to post on the forum is able to resolve pixinsight.com, or else you would not be able to post here.

also why not just run pixinsight on MacOS directly?

Thank You I am well out of my depth here but I am using the same computer to access the forum. I can access all the items on the Resources tab except Down Load Updates. A puzzle indeed.
I have loaded PI onto the Mac and that works fine.
Thanks for the reply.
