Somewhat lost with DBE
« on: 2009 March 24 13:16:37 »
Hi,
I have read the PI LE guide and the information I found on PI DBE, but I still have a difficulty understanding the parameters.

Especially there is a sample color and a selected sample color, and a colored box.  I expected that at most selection point I would have a fair amount of pixel of the selected color box, but this is not the case (most are very light). So probablyI did not understand what this colored box is (there is unfortunately no tool tip on that box).

Also should I adapt some parameters from the background I see in my image (I have say 0.05)?

I played with the parameters, but for the time being ABE gives a better result, which makes me feel bad (besides, the result is not good enough, there is still la halo of red around the main object).

Any pointer on more information on these specific points welcome.

OK, eventually by reviewing the tutorial I understood that the color is for the select item, I though it was to show the select/non selected pixels in the zoomed square.

I still have some difficult cases, but I think my image was bad beyond any repair in the red. I did split the three channels and applied DB on green and blue (as gray levels)successfully, but on the red channel, the background is to near the low levels to be distinguished.
