Ubuntu and Windows dual boot help
« on: 2015 September 30 15:00:23 »
I have Ubuntu and Window installed. Both OS are installed on my Primary SSD hard drive.
I am trying to get both OS to load from one BIOS hard drive setting.

Ubuntu boots successfully by selecting Standard Hard Drive 1st in the BIOS  boot order.

If I change the BIOS boot order to to EFI Hard Drive - Windows Boot Manager , windows starts .

I was able to use EasyBCD in Window to create a Ubuntu boot entry in Windows boot Manger.
However, it does not start Ubuntu when selected during Boot (EFI Hard Drive - Windows Boot Manager in BIOS) .

I tried adding the Windows 10 using the GRUB customizer in Ubuntu.
I managed to get a Windows 10 entry appear when Ubuntu boots from the Standard Hard drive but Windows does not load either.

Suggestion?

Found the problem
You have to have both systems installed under EFI or legacy respectively .
I turned off legacy HD in the BIOS and reinstalled PI under EFI.
Bingo I can boot to both OS without switching the BIOS.
