second installation

Hi

new pixinsight user here with a tech support question

I have a multiboot enviroment with using windows installations on partitions C: and D:, but I cannot get pixinsight to install on the D: partition?

Installs and runs fine on C: (c:\PCL) but cannot get the installtion to run on d:

Tried both D:PCL & D:\Program Files, also copied the licence from C: to D:

attached is a screen shot of the error.

any ideas?

btw I tried the 45day trial, hummed and ahhed(sp) over buying for a few days using cs3 etc then started to get withdrawl symptoms, quality product well done.

Welcome to PixInsight Forum.

The solution to this problem is installing a redistributable package from Microsoft:

For 32-bit Windows versions:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en

For 64-bit Windows versions:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BA9257CA-337F-4B40-8C14-157CFDFFEE4E&displaylang=en

Besides redistributables, you should keep your Windows installations up-to-date with the latest service packs available.

I know this is basic but are you booting into each respective OS and installing or trying from just one? I've had multi boot (3) OS systems and if you are new to them it takes some getting use to installing from each OS.
