dynamic crop does not work
« on: 2018 March 01 03:14:16 »
Hello everybody,
can someone give me a tip why dynamic crop does not work? ;)

After cutting out one area and saving this  process, after dragging the process to another image, it appears that a crop is being performed, but not happening on the image!
Where is my mistake? :o
thanks for any help

Hello Charly,

Try saving a new instance at the desktop before clicking apply!

hey,
what I have noticed:

in the new instance the new, changed width and height data are not saved!
So the crop can not be applied to other pictures.
I also reinstalled PI !
what happened there? or not ?

regards and  :embarassed:

Here is what I think you are trying to do. The first step using DynamicCrop on the first image mark your area to crop and before executing drag the new instance triangle to the workspace. Step2 execute DynamicCrop using the Check mark. Step3 with the second image to crop, drag your DynamicCrop process icon that you created in Step1 into the second image. That's it. The process icon can be saved and used with any other image.

I did that on the latest PI 1.8.5.1353 and also with another computer running 1.8.4.1195.

If you can't find a solution you might try resetting PixInsight to the original settings. Any settings you have made will be deleted in favor of the original as installed. If a parameter became corrupted this should fix that. Worse case is you could uninstall and then reinstall PI.

you should be able to drag the DynamicCrop step out of the image history of your cropped image and drop it onto your 2nd image, give that a try.
