Ha & RGB image combine if they are of different sizes
« on: 2016 January 16 08:26:44 »
Hi guys,
this may be a really simple thing to an expert, but I'm a relative novice.
Basically, i have just bought a mono CCD & would like to combine objects taken previously with a DSLR.  They look to be different sizes & I'm wondering whether there is a way of combining both images so the Ha can be used to complement the original OSC image.  Can anyone tell me what i need to do/use?
Many thanks
Andy

yes, just register your old images together with your old images and the size will be made the same as your new images.

Cheers for responding Rob - I also just found out that i can use the dynamic alignment - which I'm going to give a try.
I take it i can do either method if i wanted to use a combination of either a DSLR on a 72mm Apo scope & a CCD on an 8 inch Ritchey Chretien?
Cheers

you shouldnt need to use dynamicalignment - it's really only necessary in very extreme cases. StarAlignment should work fine.

but yea, as long as StarAlignment can detect stars in both types of images, you're good.
