Trial Version Benchmark
« on: 2014 June 18 17:12:45 »
New user. Using trial version. Wondering if it is possible to run the Benchmark script on the Trial Version. Clicking "Script" on the horizontal nav bar does not give the option "Benchmarks > PixInsight Benchmark."

Somewhere there is a hint that the script might have to be downloaded. If it must, could you point me to where I can download it?

Thanks.

~George

Check that you have the latest release from the software distribution center, and then apply all the updates.

Thank you, Carlos.

Downloaded latest updates. Applied them.

Script>Benchmarks>Pixinsight benchmark is now available. I hit ENTER, then "Run Benchmark" and get this message:

Error: File I/O Error: Unable to open file: No such file or directory: /tmp/pixinsight_benchmark_v1.fit

Resources>Updates>Check for Updates indicates that no updates are available.

Resources>Updates>View Installed Updates shows "20140512-1-script.zip was installed. It contains the Package Title "Pixinsight Benchmark Script version 1.00 (update)"

(My system is Ubuntu 14.04)

Thanks again.

~George

Maybe there are some restrictions to read/write into that folder. Try changing the swap/temp folder in PixInsight's settings.
