Leo Triplett DSLR newbie Processing
« on: 2014 April 08 01:59:09 »
Hi,

i am new to Pix and working now 3 Month with it. Now i have some experience with it, but not really much. So i want to share some data to see how other process them. so please show me your way to get out a pretty picture.
some facts to me: my name is markus and i live in germany. the sky is not really good here. lot of light pollution. i am photographing with a modified canon 40d, 8" f=4 carbon newton with a 400mm guiding scope and phd. donĀ“t know what happend the last session, but the stars where not round at all. so some guiding problem. normaly this run much better. but now i must live with this data.
i provide a raw stack in fit format here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j9y0gjrcakicaoo/integration_DBE.fit

My Problems with this data:
- the large scale color noise on the background
- color callibration of the lights
- get a smooth background/stars

this is my version, but i am not really happy with it:

thansk a lot, markus

Hi Markus,
I've downloaded your image, but it is already stretched.

You cannot do an appropriate color calibration on a nonlinear image.

Try to upload your original linear stack so we can work on the original linear data to get a better result.
the other problem can be solved after colo rcalibration, mainly in linear stage (for example with deconvolution to get better stars, and TGVDenoise to solve the noise problem).

Bye

Edoardo

In the meanwhile try this deconvolution Icon:
It is an unproper application because deconvolution MUST be applied on linear data, but anyway it gives you the idea.
