My first Rosette
« on: 2014 March 14 22:59:37 »
This is my first image processed all the way through with Pixinsight (and my first Rosette Nebula).
I think that it is ok now to throw it out there for critical review.
I still have a lot to learn but I am ok with this for the first go.

Details are:
- Rosette Nebula
- Glanmire, NSW Australia
- Canon 60Da
- Skywatcher Blackdiamond 100mm F9 APO
- 0.85x reducer/corrector
- 16 subs ISO 800 @ 300 seconds
- 20 darks
- Skywatcher EQ8 mount

Processed in Pixinsight following the DSLR processing tutorial from Kayron Mercieca and also followed the batch preprocessing video on Harry Page's site.

Comments and feedback welecome.

Thanks Rod, I am busily working away on M42 using the same tutorial from Kayron. A lot more challenging given the HDR requirement but I am making progress.

For the core I have followed Harry Page's video on the HDR Combo and I think it is going to work for me as I had a selection of shorter exposures that I could use. I will post the result on a new thread when I have finished.
