Is it possible to get the xy-positions from the stars detected ?

Yes. Hack. Convolve the SA star mask with a matching cross shaped kernel and then peak detect. Works well in 1.7. Have not tried this in 1.8.

Have a look at the ImageSolver script. I think it needs to do something like this - but I am not sure.

I dont think IS does this. Rather it star generates a catalog and then asks SA for the match. No need for IS to obtain xy's.

Mike,

I have tried your code from the SubframeSelector script and it works really well - but I think this is more complicated and time consuming than necessary. There must be a table in the StarAlignment module to generate the output image with red crosses and it should be possible to access this structure.

Thanks. Juan posted that he could add a table, can't find the post, but IMO priority of this was low.
