Receives a New ZWO 1600 MM Pro for Christmas. Trying to Build my Dark Library. When I try to integrate the Dark Frames I am receiving this message.

C:/Users/user/Pictures/ZWO 1600MM 180 sec Darks/January 26 2019/ZWO1600MM Dark.00000001.Dark.fit

*** Error: C:/Users/user/Pictures/ZWO 1600MM 180 sec Darks/January 26 2019/ZWO1600MM Dark.00000001.Dark.fit: Zero or insignificant signal detected (empty image?)
<* failed *>

I am using the SkyX camera add version 10.5.0 build 12034  for exposing the darks and  trying to integrate with the latest version of Pixinsight. Haven't had this problem with my  ASI 071. Has anyone else had this issue?

Zero or insignificant signal detected (empty image?)

Have you checked that there is indeed some info in the dark frame? Try opening the dark frame in PixInsight and then looking at the statistics.

that doesn't mean much, the capture software just wrote the fits keyword...

check that there is really data in the file as suggested by Geoff...

are the files 16-bit integer fits files? if not there could be compatibility problems.

I can open each individual file and can confirm that each has data in them. They are dark frames.

Are you bias calibrating the dark frames?  CMOS cameras like the ASI1600mm do weird stuff with short subs.  You may find that a very short bias frame has higher values than a longer dark frame.  This can cause the error you are seeing...

Cheers,
Rick.

Did not integrate bias into the darks. These were 180 seconds. Doing the same thing with 300 second subs also.

Hi,

many of my contacts use a pedestal in imageIntegration with their asi 1600 camera (juste above "masterbias")

You can try 800DN to start.

Well I switched from using the Ascom camera driver to the Zwo X2 driver in the SkyX and worked as expected. I haven't had time to compare FITS header to see what the difference was.

I have had an empty image that before. I'm not sure what caused it with my 1600 MC, but I deleted the bad one and the rest were fine.
