Star alignment fail and no idea why?
« on: 2019 January 24 08:41:03 »
I have an RGB and Ha image I am trying to register but for some reason SA is only detecting 26 stars in the RGB image and alignment is failing.

If I try image solver it finds 1200 stars and the solve works.

I have tried a variety of SA star detection settings (setting the Ha file and the rgb file as reference) and I can get it up to approx 50 stars detected but the alignment always fails. I must be missing something obvious but cannot see the woods for the trees!

I had no problem aligning either image to the other. I reset SA to make sure I had default settings, no hidden parameters from other images.

Here is the process console showing both runs.

Using your files:
SA reset
Select the view for reference
select the other view for target  -
everything runs smoothly and correct.

Thanks,
I tried resetting SA multiple times and also closing/reopening the process but it didnt work. Restarted PI, opened SA, reset and it worked first time!
