IC2574 from Calar Alto Observatory
« on: 2016 October 14 15:43:44 »
Hi,

I'm finishing some pending works from my astrophotography project at Calar Alto Observatory. This is the first one, IC2574, an irregular galaxy belonging to the M81 group, in RGB and H-alpha:

And here at full resolution:

It has 12 hour exposure time with the 1.23 meter telescope and the 2Kx2K camera.

Best regards,
Vicent.

Great images. Better to see than writing about it.

** Oh no!  Seems the camera needs a good mask for avoiding incoming spikes from nearby stars beyond sensor area.

Wonderful image. Is that a bad column on upper right?  or a satellite trail?  Or some feature of the galaxy?  Love to have a 1.2 meter scope!
