IAPY 2016
« on: 2016 September 16 07:38:37 »
Happy to report that the Greenwich Royal Observatory has honored me with the 2nd prize in the galaxies category of this year IAPY competition. The image was the last I did before selling my OTA (AP130GT). I have taken  a "gap year" in astro-imaging, but will resume next year with a new, wonderful refractor that Roland Christen is finishing for me  :D :D :D

This is the awarded imagen which I have shared with you before:

Cheers,
Ignacio

Ignacio, congratulations, your image is wonderful, great processing.
Just curious, what refractor will be the next?

Many thanks, Antoine and Rick.

Roland is finishing up a one-of-a-kind oiled, fluorite, triplet refractor, 167 mm in aperture and F6.8, based on a chunk of fluorite he got from Zeiss (east Germany) before the fall of the wall. The mechanics are from the AP175EDF only shorter OTA. Can't wait to have it in my hands, probably in a couple of weeks.

cheers,
Ignacio

Hi Ignacio
This refractor should be a winner, 167mm F6.8 made by Roland, I'm impatient to see the first light, again congratulations.
