WBPP v2.1 Released

here it is.
Thanks
I see this error:

C:/Captura/DARK/Target/Zambuto12,5f4/QHY410C/50.00/-15.00/color/Target_DARK__50.00s_2021-08-23_16-58-29__-15.00C_TempExt_C_QHY410C_0000.xisf: Incompatible image geometry.

This file is RGB while the other darks are gray.

The group of flats have a potential issue in the name: "FlatWizard_FLAT_QHY410C_0006 .fits" there is a space between "0006" and the ".fits" extension i.e. the name terminates with a space. I think this is a very side case that needs to be investigated, probably there could be a bug in detecting the file once the calibration terminates.

from what I see there is another side effect: the first dark in the group is taken as master if the generation of the master dark fails. I will check it.

Light frames also have an issue: they look to be 6072x4046 while darks and flats are 6072x4044 :) maybe a different software was used to make darks and flats? maybe that other software used different drivers? or any setting that produced this little crop is involved?

There are the issues I've noticed. I would suggest to remove the space before the file extension and retry, the issue of the different size between lights and darks/flats is harder to fix, I don't have a "clean" solution honestly, you should understand how darks and flats were cropped and see if you can do the same on lights...

Thank you.
is correct, space is the problem.
the issue you are commenting on about the size, is a driver failure, it has already been solved.
works great.

Thanks for the awesome time saving script. I have a request; let me know if there's a better spot for this, I looked around and couldn't find a better topic.

Request: list the best reference image per filter- not just the best across all filters in the log file.

I have found that for LocalNormalization, if I use a per filter best reference image that I would get better results. so something in the log file like:

[2021-10-16 23:25:10] Best reference frame for registration - auto selection completed: C:/Users/Matt/Pictures/SGP/Processing/NGC2264/cosmetized/Light_BIN-1_EXPOSURE-300.00s_FILTER-Ha_c_cc.xisf

It would save me even more time as without I have to scan the log file to figure it out or use the Fits Header script to process and order the images by WBPPWEIGHT.

Thank you,
Matt

Hi @nightfly,

this sounds like a task you can achieve more quickly and efficiently using Subframe Selector, outputting the best reference frame "per filter" specifically instead of per grouping criteria is not only out of scope but would require an unjustifiable effort.

I suggest to use Subframe Selector, tune your best frame metric (highest number of stars, smaller fwhm, proper eccentricity, a combination of these) and load per-filter frames to detect the best one for each. WBPP simply picks the frame with the highest number of stars as reference.

Hey, this is just crashing for me. I am getting out of memory errors. No logs in WBP folder output. I watched in Task Manager and there is plenty of memory. It ran with some 12 subs but it is crashing if I try 50. I have to uninstall and go back to the old version? There are no logs in documents.

Hi @jerryyyyy, this is quite an old post, WBPP is now at version 2.4.4. Did you post here because you're using WBPP 2.1? or did you post here by mistake since you're using a more recent WBPP version? in both cases I strongly recommend updating to the last version of PI and retry.

Yeah, I am using the latest of everything. It was a huge number of files. If I have trouble will file a bug report.
