I have not been able to determine why PI keeps crashing right after Reference Frame Selection completes and Registration loads its first set of images. If you were to track the progress of completed steps and if a crash occurred, the software could ask if you wanted to start the process over again after the last completed step. That would save us a lot of time trying to recover from the crash.
 
The new WBPP 2.5.0 is in its final development stage, and one of the (several) new features will be implementing a caching system to address that and other cases. Wait for it :)
