Does anyone know if I am planning to add 4 * 2TB NVMe gen 4.0 drives to a ASUS hyper M2 card into a PCIE 16x slot (bificurated 4x4x) gen 3.0 - as simply a PI WBPP processing area - how am I best to physical set it up?
Do I keep it as 4 distinct drives and put LRGB subs each on a different drive and/or add a 5th NVME drive on a PCIE 4x slot for the outputs?
Do I RAID into into one big fast drive and throw everything there on one big drive?
Do I create seperate scratch directories on each drive and create 4 shares to each scratch directory?
Given I have 256GB of RAM DDR4 but only 2,133MHz do I create a RAMdrive somewhere?
I will be using Win 10 Pro for an old Xeon dual CPU 36 core set up and trying to find if someone has determined the optimal way to arrange NVMe drives and files for when I wish to do runs with thousands of subs!
Thanks, Matthew
