When I attempted to explain this information in my materials, I began with FFT (showing more of its coolness, this article only touches it) and *then* go on to show the power of wavelets in the spatio-frequency domain. This element of PixInsight needs to be highlighted more... it is one of the coolest deep things that sets this software apart.
