Subframe selector crashing on dirty file cache?

I encountered a repeatable crash on PI 1.8.9-1, Intel mac, 64 bit.

When running subframe selector with "file cache" enabled PI is hard crashing. The files were analyzed yesterday. In between, I disconnected and reconnected the external drive but didn't do much else. After un-checking file cache, the files process correctly.
 
This cannot be reproduced under normal working conditions. Please provide a data set or a set of conditions to reproduce this problem.
