I have just released an update for PixInsight 1.8.6 on Linux, macOS and Windows with a new version of the RAW format support module. The new RAW module integrates LibRaw stable version 0.19.2, which has been released two days ago. See the official announcement on LibRaw's website for detailed information:

https://www.libraw.org/news/libraw-0-19-2-release

Note that this version fixes just a few bugs and security issues; it doesn't add support for new camera models. However, the latest Nikon Z6 and Z7, among other new camera models, were already supported in the previous version and are of course supported in this one too. Please let me know if you encounter problems decoding raw images acquired with these camera models.

Hi Juan,

I have a trouble with my new Fuji GFX 50R and .RAF files. The image seems to be shifted on the left with the last version of Pix 1.8.6 and LibRaw on Windows. The image in JPG is the original framing. I think the x=468 in the image geometry is the problem.

Thank you for all your great work !

Hi Juan,
I am having issues with reading raw files from my Nikon Z7, I've posted about this but no one seems to be assisting in the matter.

Cheers,
Steve

https://www.libraw.org/ and the comments at the bottom of https://www.libraw.org/news/libraw-0-19-2-release give the impression that LibRaw version 0.19.2 does not yet support the Nikon Z7 but the later code snapshot 201903 does.

Mark

Hi Steve,

As Mark has pointed out, the current stable version of LibRaw does not provide complete support for the Nikon Z7. Please be patient. The RAW module is a critical component of PixInsight's preprocessing pipelines, and I cannot release it based on an unstable version of a support library, such as a snapshot of the LibRaw library. As soon as the LibRaw team release a new stable version, I'll release an update of our RAW module for all platforms, which hopefully will support the newest camera models.

Cheers mate for your reply, finally nice to have an answer. I will remain patient and hopefully soon we will start to get some support for the new Nikon Z cameras

Hi Juan,

I'm a newcomer to the forum.
It seems that LibRaw updated their stable release to 0.19.3 a couple of weeks ago.
Do you have any plans to include the newest lib in Pixinsight some time soon?

Thanks for all the good work!

JW

Hi JW,

Yes, LibRaw 0.19.3 is already included in PixInsight version 1.8.7, which I am preparing for release on FreeBSD, Linux, macOS and Windows. It's a matter of days.
