I think you are talking about Hartmut Bornneman's script (in the "Render" section correct?).
I just recently highlighted this in my tutorial on deconvolution. (You should watch my video if you are a member!)
Not much to it. You just select the range of brightnesses of the stars you want the script to sample. You can also adjust a sensitivity that affects the star detection. It scans all the stars in the image and measures those stars that meet your criteria. It then it gives you a report of how many stars and the metrics. Finally you press the button to create the synthetic PSF.
Not sure what I need to be a member of, but I just need to know how to save the PDF from the Hartmut Bornneman's script so I can put it in the deconvolution tool.
click "create" after detecting stars and you'll get a new view containing the PSF (i assume you mean PSF and not PDF). the view is called "psf", so you can give that ID to Deconvolution and go from there.
