Problem with Curves Transformation and color saturation

I've used PI for several years. Suddenly today, I can't get these two processes to work. Any hints

What are the symptoms, give us a clue......

No values in the input box. When I click on the curve, nothing happens. Ditto for color saturation

do you have the checkbox clicked to follow the active view, and do you have a view active?
