This is already implemented in the STF AutoStretch tool button since at least 2009. Copied from the button's tool tip information:
Ctrl+click to apply a different STF to each RGB channel (unlinked mode).
Shift-Click to apply a single STF to all RGB channels (linked mode).
Click to apply current STF tool settings.
On macOS, replace Ctrl by Cmd.
Unless you want to customize STF parameters, change adjustments, or create/transfer process icons, you never need to open the ScreenTransferFunction tool to apply AutoStretch STFs.
