Yesterday afternoon I installed the update on two computers. Everything is perfect. Win 7 x64 and Win 8 x64.  :)  I have to do it now with Ubuntu 18 but I'm afraid

Why? It should work fine on Ubuntu 18. Come on!  ;D

That is indeed strange. What this error is telling you is that the internal code signatures in the installation file (for the 1.8.5 version, I assume) have been modified. Something has tampered with the file. You can download the 1.8.5 installation file again if required; it's still on the server.

Worked fine on my Ubuntu 18.04 desktop and 18.10 laptop.

Great! Let me know if it works this time.

Yes, perfectly worked... but now having difficulty with Hartmut Bornemann repository... https://www.skypixels.at/HVB_Repository/

I'm getting this message:

"https://www.skypixels.at/HVB_Repository/: Network error: schannel: CertGetNameString() failed to match connection hostname (www.skypixels.at) against server certificate names"

Is this a PI problem or does the repository need an update to be compatible with 1.8.6?

Hi Sedat,

I am glad to know 1.8.6 is finally working for you.

That error message denotes a problem with the SSL certificate installed on the www.skypixels.at website. This does not mean that the certificate is incorrect necessarily, just that there are some discrepancies such as mismatched server names or certificate subjects. That's why one should always use EV (Extended Validation) certificates for websites.

You can disable secure connections for this repository, that is, specify http:// instead of https://, and it should work. Insecure connections are not advisable these days but in this way you'll be able to download updates from this website.

Good Job Juan,
Happy to see the new licensing system and the nice news.

Only one question: where can I find the new SubframeSelector tool? the one under Script-Batch processing seems to be the old one.

Wait, I have just installed the "https://www.skypixels.at/HVB_Repository/" repository on this macOS machine and it works nicely. There are no certificate issues.

I suspect that the problem with "Network error: schannel:" is being caused by a misconfiguration of secure network connections on your machine. This is a relatively frequent problem on Windows 7. My advice is upgrade to Windows 10.

Thank you so much!

The SubframeSelector tool can be found under the ImageInspection and Preprocessing categories on Process Explorer.

It is under the Process menu.

Thank you Juan! Another excellent response. I'm all set now. Cheers!

I never receive Activation Codes, I try 5 times.

Perhaps, I do a mistake ?

1) I click on the button,

2) I receive mail : "PixInsight: License Reactivation Request"

3) I click on the link :
"License reactivation link:
https://pixinsight.com/dist/license_reactivation.php?request=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

4) I have a new screen :
"Software Distribution
License Reactivated
Our system has sent you an email with your new activation codes and some instructions to use them."

I Don't receive this mail with codes, where is the error ? I receive the first mail 'reactivation request', but not the second with codes. What I do wrong ?

Regards.

JP

Johh my problem is sorted out now, thank you. The first download was corrupt which was the reason behind my problem. I think last night's heavy download traffic is the culprit.
