PixInsight 1.8.6.1473 Released

Gordon,

This bug is now fixed with a set of updates I have just released, including a new build 1475 of the PixInsight core application and several processes. Sorry for the trouble, and thank you for your patience.

Hi Juan

Since I downloaded the 1473 release I?ve installed all of the updates and the issue with the SITELAT FITS and SITELONG fits keywords is still present. Just to know, is the 1475 build going to be available at the software distribution page, or will this be available as an update without needing to install the 1475? I checked a few minutes ago but the 1473 is the one available as of this moment.

Thank you for your very hard and great work on Pixinsight.

Regards,

Alfredo

Hi Alfredo,

Version 1.8.6.1475 is being distributed as a regular update to the PixInsight core application on all platforms. You should receive it automatically if you have updates enabled.

Hi Juan

I just checked and have 1.8.6.1475 version installed. However, the same SITELAT and SITELONG error is still present. Please find attached the image.

Not a bug in PixInsight, see:

https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=13638.0

The format of SITELAT and SITELONG has to be corrected in the capturing software.

Bernd

Yes, it ought to be fixed in the next SGP beta:

I downloaded the new PixInsight version for macOS (64 bit)
Core version 01.08.06.1473 and I have PixInsight Core 01.08.05.1352 Ripley (x64).
Is there a post about the exact way to make the updating overall about the license that it seems to me to have to request again?

Thanks
Enrico

Hi Enrico,

You have to reactivate your license with version 1.8.6. See FAQ 2.10 for a complete description:

https://pixinsight.com/faq/

Does this uninstallation and subsequent reinstallation preserve the customizations made over time?

Thanks
Enrico

if you save your process icons to a file you should be able to restore them all after uninstalling and reinstalling PI.

rob

yes and yes, i think the workspaces are saved in the settings file which is separate from the application... and old projects are always openable by new versions of PI.
