PI 1.8 on Monterey

Hi.

After upgrading to Monterey I am not able to launch PI. I think I need to uninstall and reinstall it.

Anyone can show me the way to uninstall safely? I don't want to drag it into the recycling bin without being sure it is safe. And then where do I find the fresh install?

Thanks in advance

The easiest way to uninstall without deleting PI on a Mac is to simply rename the folder, something like "Old Pi" or something else.

The installers are where they always are, in every mail announcing a version is the link.

you can just rename the folder PixInsight.old or something like that and then run the installer.

it is possible that 1.8 won't run on monterey... but who know.s

Thanks. I found instructions on PI website that said drag the folder into trash; so, it is all done, and PI launches and works on Monterey.

its really not necessary and sometimes leads to heartache if you've installed stuff in PI that doesn't come thru the distribution center. you can easily fish those things out of the old installation if you don't trash it.
