New Preview button

I've updated to the new version and when I click on the new preview button, I get a dialog box asking for a name and coordinates / size of the preview. What happened to clicking on the active file and dragging a box for you preview. I was able todo this right up until I upgraded version. Is there a setting that I need to change someplace? Please help. Thanks

The "new preview" button (

) opens this dialog; the "new preview mode" button (

), equivalent to typing Alt-N, goes into the "define preview using cursor" mode.
