Please upload your data set so we can make tests to understand what happens. This problem must never happen if you use an integrated local normalization image, especially with the latest version 2.4.5 of WBPP. Otherwise we need data to learn from them and hopefully improve our implementation.

Curious if that scale should not be varied based on the image scale and/or pixel count of the subs? I'm using an IMX455 at 1x1 so 1024 is a much smaller slice of my sub than say a 16803.

This is an excellent question. I have the same sensor and have gravitated to 1024 and wondered if it would be beneficial to increase the scale even more.
