My First Images

I'm new to all of this. I just received my 1st FITS RGBL images and they look pretty terrible. I've researched the best I know how, and this noise is the result of a reflection in the optical path of the telescope? Is that a correct conclusion?

I want to learn PixInsight and how to process photos. I'd appreciate any Sage advise on what my next step should be. Where should I start with fixing the noise in these photos?

Thanks for your help!

something is really wrong here... there must be a bright star just outside of the FOV of the sensor but still in the telescope's FOV.

what is the target? it can help to change the pointing a little bit to get the star outside of the telescope's FOV.

if this was from a telescope service i'd probably just ask for my money back. making these into a nice image will be very, very difficult even for someone with a lot of experience with PI.

Thank's for the response Rob. Yes, they were from a telescope service. Soon after I posted here I contacted them. They've already agreed to re-take the photos. Target is NGC 628. Hopefully the 2nd round of photos will look better.

there is a magnitude 3 star in the vicinity of that object but given the focal length it seems like it should be well outside the FOV. and it doesn't look like the moon would have been anywhere near the target...

besides the artifact the tracking/guiding doesn't look so hot. i've seen this before with iTelescope and i'm not sure why they can't get their systems to work right sometimes.
