Auto Stretch - grey color

Hi All,
I am just a newbie and learning PI. I ran into the very first problem i.e. when I hit Auto Stretch from STF, the image of Milky Way is only grey colour. Have I misconfigured somewhere?
Any help would be appreciated.

How was the image captured, is it still Bayered in which case it will be grey?

Thank you Dave for quick help.
I think I opened the raw file but not compatible with PI, the image was taken with Canon so it was image.CR3.
Should I convert it to TIFF with any particular settings?

OK that expains why is it grey, you should use the Debayer process before the StarAlignment process, you have to debayer, register, and then integrate.

You also need to look at some tutorials on OSC processing from a cannon camera, I don't use DSLR's so my processing skills using OSC images is non-existant, there are others that use OSC cameras all the time and will be able to advise you on the correct process, but look up the Debayer process as you need to start here.
