I found solution for this problem. Process, that blocked saving PixInsight project is ESET antivirus. Main problem is, that files without suffix (project files in project.data folder) are suspects for antivirus. These files are checked and sometime blocked. I asked our administrators for exception for folder, where are project files stored. Another solution is to add any suffix (for example *.dat) for data files.

Still no solution for this problem? Every time i started PixInsight, I need to hide Zoom toolbar and enable Readout data > Show Readout Preview. Is it possible to save my desktop settings finally? If PixInsight start as new session, is it possible to use my own global preferences? This is very annoying.
I am running PixInsight 1.8.4.1195 on Win7 64bit platform. Many thanks for solution.

This means exactly what it says: PixInsight cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. The "other process" can be a virus protection software or a malware. Please realize that this problem has nothing to do with PixInsight.
Than you Juan. I try this few times during 20 minutes. I hope that when this occurs using antivirus, it can check these files in a while. Not all time (20 minutes). I will look for some tools to find out what is accessing these files.

The latest version is 1193.  Try updating to see if that fixes the problem.
Yes Jim, I know that. I obtained email and saw few notification when starting PixInsight. Unfortunately latest version is not always the best version. I planned to wait 2-3 weeks for fine tunning this version, but now have installed it.

When saving project, I obtained message...
File I/O Error: Unable to open file: Win32 error (32):The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
:c:/data/images/ic443.data/9MPBZ9VIJ-000036

PixInsight (01.08.04.1185) is running on Windows 7 64bit. On drive C: is more than 45GB free of space.

It would be useful to use CTRL key while dragging preview on the image, to make a copy of it. Similar as working with icons on desktop in any modern OS. See attached image. Thank you.

I try to continue with your image. Background neutralization and color calibration was succeed. Your image is still colorful. Problem is in your other steps. Please, make them again, and create history process from your final image. Save this process icon and we can analyze it.

Create process history container (http://www.pixinsight.com.ar/en/docs/31/pixinsight-history-explorer-extract-process-container.html) and share it. I will try to look for step, where colors are missing.

Hi Jeff.

I run PixInsight and got the message, that new release is available. I close PixInsight and uninstal it. I got the same message as you, because PixInsight process was still alive in task manager and locked these files.
Wait a moment, or shutdown this process in task manager manually. Then remove all files in PixInsight directory and run setup.
