Thank you Mike,

I could solve the problem. The license file was not in the folder C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Pleiades as assumed ind the FAQs.

Hi,

the latest update of PI requires the

User identifier
Activation code

I copied both strings from my commercial licsense as always, but the server says 'INVALID AUTHORIZATION CODE'.

What can I do?

Please help and thanks

Hello Herbert,

as you said, it's a wonderful target. I like your processing and how you accentuated the color of the galaxy and the big stars.

Hi,

now, as nights get shorter, I could spend just 2 hrs taking LRGB unbinned (30:30:30:30) on M 13.

M 13 is actually the 1st one on my flickr page:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/hvb_astro

Processing was PixInsight standard combining LRGB-RGB with deconvolved luminance frames.

Thanks for looking

Hi,

this target was captured over 5 hrs or 60 x 5 min LRGB (75:75:75:75). The R, G and B frames where binned 2x2. This concept of unbinned L and binned color frames is still in my head but in fact, it is an unneccessary overhead which also implies the risk, if you register with the wrong interpolation. Not to speak about having different calibration frames prepared.

M 3 is actually the 1st one on my flickr page:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/hvb_astro

I used standard PixInsight methods and reduced the noise with the more advanced TGVDenoise. Some stars show unwanted turquoise spots in their outer region. I believe, those are produced by a poor parameterization of the deconvolution process.

Thanks for looking

Georg,

yes, it's random. And if this can help, it just happens again when I tried to close the preview window.

Hola Juan,

I collected some material:

- the image

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90132063/Documents/M%203.fit

- the situation at the beginning

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90132063/Documents/M3HistRTPreview.png

- and with the exception

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90132063/Documents/M3HistRTPreview_Exception.png

This exception occured, when I clicked the close icon (x) at the Real-Time Preview window and the busy icon at the top left of the window was rotating over the time. In some cases before, access violations happened frequently with other actions. Simple "mouse over" operations in the statistics process or disabeling the preview led to that kind of errors too.

My system:

Dell precision M6600, 8 GB, Win 7 64-Bit.

Hi,

since a while the statistics process crashes on previews with memory addressing error.
Is there anything I can do by myself?

Hi Juan,

following your advise, VS 2013 (!) produced 59 errors when I compiled PCL.vcxproj:

Error    2    error C2535: 'pcl::RGBColorSystem::RGBColorSystem(const pcl::RGBColorSystem &)' : member function already defined or declared (..\..\AdaptiveLocalFilter.cpp)    C:\Program Files\PixInsight\PCL\include\pcl
\RGBColorSystem.h    1566    1    PCL

+ 59 other modules.

I pledge with a smile, that all parms have been checked and double checked several times. The same error popped up, when compiling the SandBox.

Any idea, what I'm doing wrong?

All the best

Hartmut

Dear Franz,

wow, that's a huge field. Beautiful arranged and processed to get most of the dark clouds. Nebula regions and star colors are well balanced too.

Hi,

the Munich workshop is now history. I had the pleasure to work on my Pelican:

Imaged with TOA-150/ML8300 and the brand new .7x reducer.
