Tips & Tricks / Re: Incompatible image geometry
« on: 2019 May 27 15:46:30 »
Binning can cause this issue, if at least one of the flats is binned differently than the others, or if the stack is binned differently than the frame you are trying to calibrate.
If any of the images are cropped differently you will also get the incompatible geometry error.

Also, since you are doing sky flats, there is a chance PI is detecting stars that you can't see. If it does, and the flats are not registered to each other, it will recognize this and refuse to stack the images because they are not registered (which is reported as incompatible geometry. Try star alignment on your flats if the first two are not the problem.

Tutorials and Processing Examples / Re: Drizzle Deconvolution

I am not a Jedi.
But, if your original data is undersampled, then deconvolution doesn't work well regardless of drizzle.
On the other hand, if your original data is at least critically sampled or oversampled, then deconvolution seems to work OK even on a drizzled version.

I guess I am not being clear. I can no longer debayer any image of any kind in Pixinsight 1.18.5

4
If you look carefully at what I sent, it will not debayer the integration file, the single .xisf file, nor the original single .fit file.

I captured many images with my Canon DSLR and the camera control feature of SkyX.
SkyX stores the DSLR images as FITS files.
I register these images with the star alignment process, which converts them to .xisf files
With 1.18.4 the single image Debayer process worked fine on these images. But in 1.18.5 it does not.
Neither will it debayer the original fits files.
Here is a copy of my process console:

Great work everyone. I think AstroDon still wins for just the simple beauty of the object, but I really like the work Dimitris Platis (Dave) did to bring out the dozens of faint background galaxies, especially the bright one shining right through the nebula.
