Easypixinsight.com is now a fait accompli. The monochrome series is done, completing all that I intended for the beginner site. There are also image files available for practice there. Check it out at www.easypixinsight.com. If you like what you learn there, perhaps you'll decide to subscribe to IP4AP.com. Thanks!

As further info, PS doesn't handle 32-bit files well. If I recall correctly, if they're opened in PS's HDR Toning, you can bring the range in-line with what PS can handle better. Best to do as John says- save as 16-bit!

W Krispler- forgot about this! I must have these enabled as well! Thanks!

Juan, Per attached, I have been getting this stuck readout box in the workspace. It pops up, then lingers without fading away. Thanks.

Congrats Juan!! Almost in time for my birthday. ;>) Looking forward to checking it out! Was happy to have my little Windows Taskbar icon back. Also noted that you remembered the 'flat darks' verbiage change for BPP- very slick!

Pedestals "Other applications may write negative values (another 'nice' example of FITS interoperability issue). For improved compatibility, when ImageIntegration finds a negative pedestal, it issues a warning message and assumes that the value is intended to be added." This is good! As I came to understand it, the field was created and defined by the old SBIG company, who always displays a negative number (i.e. -100), meaning, "This is the value you need to subtract to remove the pedestal."

Thanks Juan. Go jump in the pool and turn on 87.6 Follow Me! ;>)

Tutorials and Processing Examples / EasyPixInsight.com

We wanted to tell you about a New Resource that we've been working on for a while. If you're newer to PixInsight, or have been struggling to find your way with it, we're producing a new series, aptly called, Easy PixInsight. Rather than add the series to IP4AP.com's copious content, we've created a brand-new website, specifically for it. www.easypixinsight.com's primary goal is to attract new customers to PI, and is therefore, a FREE resource.

Visit EasyPixinsight.com. There, you'll see a 4-video series, for each major type of camera. Choose, OSC, DSLR, or Monochrome, download the accompanying data files, and follow along with the videos. Each series begins with a simple, automatic, preprocessing track, and ends with post-processing. The 4-part, one-shot color series is now complete, and Warren is currently working on the DSLR series, with the first video to be posted any day now.

Although EasyPixInsight.com is a work in progress, don't let it stop you from checking it out. We would appreciate your recommendation of it, to new PixInsight processors. Thank you for your time and attention.

Lest we forget the equally noble cursor Pan Mode via Alt+P. :-)
