clone previews
« on: 2016 July 02 08:08:13 »
cloning an image is quite simple: just drag the top left label of the picture to the desktop to create a new instance.
when there are some previews in the original view, they will not be copied, they have to be copied in the same was to the new instance.
i often creat new instances with the same previews for some alternate processing methods and i always have to create the previews from the scratch or have to copy them over from the original.

it would be nice if we get a modifier key for creating a new instance.

for example: holding ALT (on apple mac) when creating a clone will copy the previews (and maybe the placed masks) also to the new picture.

if this feature already is here, i have not found it since.

cheers from austria!

Andreas!
Either you drag and drop the vertical preview bar to the clone, preview bei preview selected,
Or you use the script
Utilities
 Propagate Previews
Where you select the previews you want to Transfers und the Targets and this script
transfers all the previews you wish at once to the target Image (clone).

thx for your reply, gerald.
to be honest, didn´t know this ´till now.
but it would be a good feature to include this script into the pi core...

PS:
Exakt diese Frage habe ich schon dort erstellt ;-)

Hi Andreas, I believe that PropagatePreview script is in the oficial distribution, but not sure. There is also a second version of the script that is in PixInsight Resources repository.
