Hi Fcat,
which OS are you using? If you are using Windows you need to install the ASCOM framework and the wINDI server for windows from cloudmakers
http://www.cloudmakers.eu/windi/
The wINDI server is a wrapper of the ASCOM driver framework and translates the INDI commands to ASCOM commands and vice versa.
Please also see the initial INDI release post

I have the same problem: I win 10 (64), Windi, .NET 4.0 and 6.2 ASCOM. I always make the same mistake <INDI SERVER NOT CONNECTED>". Maybe they are incapable. Now I gave up. I'm sorry but I'll have to keep using ASCOM Platform.

No problem, but thanks for reporting this issue. It is indeed strange since connecting to a running INDI server should not be a problem. I'll download the latest wINDI server and try asap.

Hi,
This is a problem with the Windows firewall. You should let the wINDI application to go through the firewall. You can change the firewall configuration in the control panel.
Best regards,
Vicent.
