Images rejected with RANC error
« on: 2016 May 10 07:22:03 »
Hi,

I am trying to "stack" my darks, flats, bias and lights from a DSLR camera.  I run the "BatchPreProcess" script and load the images.  The images all get "Calibrated", "Debayered" When it comes to "Registering" most images are rejected with the following error "RANSAC: Unable to find a valid set of star pair matches"  Although the system shows that there are 180+ stars found.

Is there a way to have PixInsight be more sensitive to the number of stars that are visible?  These same images are stacked in DeepSkyStacker with no issue.

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

likely due to hot pixels... the 170 stars found are not actually stars. i assume you can tweak the staralignment parameters in BPP... check this thread, toward the end:

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the heads-up.  I changed the noise level to 2 and "stacked, racked & packed" everything.

Regards
