Annotations are offset after plate solving
« on: 2016 April 28 21:14:47 »
I've worked through plate solving as described below, but the annotations are uniformly offset.  What am I doing wrong?

1.  Load target fit.

2.  Script/render/CatalogStarGenerator and configure epoch, dimensions, and image scale to my setup.  The reference image is close in dimension, but not perfect.

3.  DynamicAlignment.  After the first star, the software is spot on in finding the stars in the target.  They are marked by green boxes but the central "X" is red--OK?  Drag an instance to the workspace, select the green check.

4.  Script/Image Analysis/ManualImageSolver.

5.  Script/Render/AnnotateImage.  All labels are uniformly offset!

Thanks for any insights and suggestions.

If the annotation is offset probably the problem is that coordinates are not well calculated.

I would need the original image and the parameters that you are using in CatalogStarGenerator.

In any case, why are you using ManualImageSolver?. Doesn't ImageSolver work?

I just tried ImageSolver and it DOES work!  I was working off a tutorial that specified the manual approach.

Many thanks!

Hi Denc,

could you send me the link to that tutorial? I would like to check if it is correct and it is not misleading people.

Andrés.
