Mike,

I have never been a BPP user, doing everything manually.  In reading your note I understand the point but what about tweaking earlier in the process? For example.  I often tweak Cosmetic Correction and then test my subs with Subframeselector.  Is a you that possible using BPP?

Thanks,

Jim
Really, are clear skies, low wind and no moon that much to ask for?

Jim

To be honest I don't use Cosmetic Correction. I have such poor equipment(Sony Nex-5), a poor location(East Coast of Florida), short exposures and no guiding for my images I have not seen a benefit. Not saying there isn't but when a long exposure for me is 90-120 seconds, I have bigger issues, haha. I sometimes have 300 or more subs and for my location Blink is more of a help then Subframeselector due to always having haze and clouds.

Now if I had real equipment with real dollars invested I would do everything possible to make the best images possible. That to me would be doing all of the preprocessing manually and taking any extra time needed tweaking parameters for the best image possible.

At least I have one thing going for me. For the majority of the year my night time outside temperature is very close to my indoor daytime temp. I can take darks whenever I want.
