New Tutorial: Reducing Star Sizes
« on: 2015 December 29 06:16:30 »
Read here: http://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/tutorial-reducing-star-sizes.html

This new tutorial covers a technique originally presented by Rogelio Bernal Andreo on star size reduction, particularly good to boost nebulous contrast in LRGB images. Also covered is a technique for complete removal of stars, particularly good for narrowband images. You can see comparative images here: http://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/blog/new-pixinsight-processing-tutorial-reducing-star-sizes

Hi Kayron,

Nice article. But I must say that Rogelio's article is a copy of the techniques published by me in the Spanish magazine Astronomia, in February 2006. Therefore, your article is not based on Rogelio's techniques, but on my own techniques that I started developing in 2003. I can send (in case the magazine give the right permission) to you a scanned version if you want. As usually happens, Rogelio doesn't make any citation, even if his techniques are simply a copy of the work of other people.

Best regards,
Vicent.

Hi Vicent,

Thank you for the details! :) I'd be happy to look it over and of course, cite it as a source on my own tutorial.

Best Regards,
Kayron

I just saw this....

Vicent, I have NO IDEA about your article. Let me repeat that, I have ZERO idea about whatever is that you wrote in that article.  I still don't by the way.

Would you like to re-write your message or you stand firm on your accusation? I am DEAD SERIOUS about this.

Thank you,
Rogelio

Hi Rogelio,

I apologize Rogelio. You are correct, your article does not copy mine. Once again my apologies if any of my previous comments have caused you any troubles.

Best regards,
Vicent.
