Stacking with PI - getting strange result
« on: 2015 October 31 18:56:11 »
I'm attempting to start using PI for stacking instead of DSS.  I followed this tutorial to stack my subs and the result was some odd artifacts in the integrated image as you can see...

Any idea why I am getting these?  Integrated FIT file here.

Those artifacts are hot pixels. You can remove them calibrating the images with bias and darks or if that doesn't remove them, use CosmeticCorrection before registering the images.

You have to use
PixelRejection "LinearFit" for your 106 Images Integration this should remove the hot Pixels.
You did not select any Rejection!

Interesting, I'll try CosmeticCorrection after I run the integration again with Linear Fit Clipping as Gerald suggested.  I did calibrate with bias and darks so I'm not sure why these pixels are showing up?

Thanks to both of you.

John!
In the Fits File you presented you have Not selected LinearFit.
There was NO rejection selected at all!

Cosmetic correction has to be done before registration and integration.

I re-ran integration with rejection as you recommended, the hot pixels are gone now!
