Spliting the general forum
« on: 2015 October 06 15:32:00 »
Just a thought, what about splitting the general forum into two sections; newbies and advanced? Being a newbie myself at the moment I'm only interested in simple questions and answers. When I read in the more complex question they scares the ******* out of me. Leaving me thinking 'I don't even understand the question leave alone the answer'. I'm sure that in time I'll want the more esoteric questions and answers, but at the moment  in my learning curve, no.

Just do what I do, cover my eyes while running away screaming  :o
Really, are clear skies, low wind and no moon that much to ask for?

I agree. It would not be clear where to post a question or commentary. Searching for a message would be more difficult.

Yep that's my way at the moment of dealing with some of the questions.

Just dive into all of the tutorial videos you can find (YouTube, etc. - Harry Page and Warren are two excellent resources and there are others also).  You'll find enough there to bring you up to a level where you sort of, kind of, maybe understand some of the stuff asked here.  At least you'll learn to separate  the PI user stuff from all of the programmer and coder stuff (way over my head - no matter how many "+"s are behind that C).  And don't be afraid to ask your own questions in a way that you understand.  More often than not the answers will be understandable too.
Celestron CPC1100 - Canon 550D (T2i) and of course, Pixinsight!
