Cosmetic Correction FLIPSTAT
« on: 2015 September 23 09:38:16 »
Hello,
I am processing some images taken with the iTelescope facilities and there was a mount flip in the middle of the imaging sequence. The post-meridian images have FLIPSTAT set to "FLIP/MIRROR" and display (in PixInsight) in the same orientation as the pre-meridian images (which have no value set for FLIPSTAT). When I do a ComsmeticCorrection on the entire batch of images, those that are post-meridian are not restored to their original geometry before pixels are repaired. Of course, this means that the incorrect pixels are altered and those in need of fixing are not. I don't know if this is a bug or feature. The header says that the re-orientation of the images from iTelescope was done by Maxim, and maybe the value set by Maxim is not recognized by PixInsight? In any case, other should be aware that they need to manually re-orient the flipped images in order to apply a cosmetic correction. (Using an image container and FastRotation, this is simple enough.)
