Can't open file in batchpreprocessing on Linux
« on: 2015 September 05 15:28:36 »
I'm using Ubuntu 15.04, 64-bit, and I can't get images to show in their folder when I try to open them. The images are CR2 files from a Canon 350D, the files are in the folders, but not visible when trying to load them through PI preprocessing. The folder open in the screenshot should contain 30 bias files, I have it selected to show all files, and I even tried changing it to raw files, but that didn't work either. This is a new install of PixInsight and it is up to date, and it is a new computer so it never had a previously installed version on it.

Can you show the normal Ubuntu file manager for this folder (not a dialog box)?

It appears that I can reproduce this problem with Ubuntu 15.04. And it's not just the preprocess script. I get the same issue just trying to open a CR2 (mine are from a 50D).

Does anyone know what the pink background means?

It appears the problem is PI expects the extension to be .cr2 rather than .CR2. Renaming fixes the problem.

Anyone know how to add an extension to PI?

Whoops, I meant to say I'm on 15.04, must have "fat-fingered" that when I typed it. I'll have to edit that in the original post.

Glad to see it's not just me, also not glad that this is not just me.

Thanks for the tip, I'll convert them to .cr2 instead of .CR2. Boy, that might be a pain.

As a further tidbit, if I choose the .CR2 file in the Files explorer and choose "Open With PixInsight" the file opens no problem. I just can't see it in any dialog box.

I also tried "Use Native File Dialog" setting and it made no difference.
