Open the Star Matching section of StarAlignment and select descriptor type = triangle similarity instead of the default pentagons.
As noted on the tool tip text for this parameter, polygonal descriptors don't support specular transformations. Of course, triangle similarity does. However, if possible, don't use triangle similarity on a regular basis, as polygons are much more robust.
