TIFF files corrupted

I have been having issues with saving TIFF files. Paint Shop Pro, and other programs cannot open them, claiming a corrupted file. Irfanview will open them, but you can see artifacts at the center of bright stars. This all seems to have started since the latest update.

I am with you here I cannot even save my files as a TIFF as I don't get that option from the pulldown selection.

what bit depth are you saving the TIFF files in? many programs can not handle bit depths greater than 16 bits...

Thanks.  I guess somehow I must have switched the bit depth to something other than 16 bit integer.
